Terms of Service
Last updated September 6, 2026
The plain-language version: LarLine gives your business a phone number that rings your cell and texts back the calls you miss. You pay monthly for the plan you chose, you can cancel anytime, and you agree to use it like a business phone — not a spam machine. The details follow.
1. Who we are
LarLine is operated by VLO Labs, Inc. (“LarLine”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected]. These terms are a contract between you and VLO Labs, Inc. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data.
2. What LarLine is
LarLine provides a United States business phone number that:
- forwards incoming calls to the cell phone you choose;
- sends a text message from your business number to callers you miss;
- lets you send and receive text messages on that number;
- takes voicemail when a call is not answered, and transcribes it;
- lets you set business hours, outside which calls are not forwarded to you: the caller gets voicemail and an after-hours text;
- lets you call people back so they see your business number, not your cell.
Calls and texts travel over telephone carriers we do not control. We work hard to make the missed-call text go out within seconds, but timing and delivery depend on those carriers and are not guaranteed.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and using LarLine for a business.
- Give us accurate information — your name, your business name, and a cell number you actually control — and keep it current.
- Keep your password to yourself. Everything done through your account is your responsibility, so tell us right away if you think someone else has access.
4. Your number
We obtain your business number from our carrier partner and assign it to you for as long as your subscription is active. You may not sell or transfer it separately from your account. If you want to move the number to another provider, email us and we will help with the port.
If your subscription ends, we hold your number for 30 days so you can come back to it. After that it may be released and reassigned, and we cannot promise to get it back.
5. Price and billing
- You pay the monthly price of the plan you chose — the amount shown at checkout and on every receipt — plus any applicable taxes. Any extra phone numbers you add are billed monthly on top of it, at the price shown when you add them.
- Who takes the money depends on where you subscribed. If you signed up on the web, you pay us through Stripe. If you subscribed inside the LarLine iPhone app, you pay Apple, and Apple’s own terms govern that transaction. The plan and the price are the same either way. One account is billed one way — you cannot be charged twice for the same account.
- If we bill you (Stripe). You pay in advance, by card. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime from the billing page in the app.
- If Apple bills you (in-app purchase). Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. It renews automatically each month, and renews at the same price unless Apple asks you to agree to a new one. To cancel, or to see what you are paying, go to your Apple subscription settings — we cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Extra phone numbers are not sold inside the app; add those on the web.
- When your subscription ends, however it was billed, callers reach voicemail and nobody gets texted back, and your number enters the 30-day hold above.
- Refunds. If we billed you and LarLine does not earn its keep in your first month, tell us within 30 days of signing up and we will refund it; after that we do not refund partial months. If Apple billed you, refunds are Apple’s to give — we cannot issue one for a purchase we never received. Ask Apple through Report a Problem, and write to us as well: we will tell Apple we support it.
- If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. The service keeps working for a short time while you fix it; if the payment keeps failing we may cancel the subscription. Where Apple bills you, Apple decides how long it retries.
- If we ever change the price of a subscription we bill, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then. For an Apple subscription, Apple tells you and asks for your agreement in the way its own rules require.
6. Texts sent in your name
When you miss a call, LarLine sends a text from your business number, written by you (or our default message until you change it). The same goes for the after-hours text sent to people who call outside the business hours you set. Each is your message: you are responsible for what it says, and for every other text you send through LarLine. In particular:
- LarLine sends the missed-call and after-hours texts only to people who just called you, and at most once per caller per hour. It is a reply, not a marketing tool, and you may not use LarLine to send bulk, promotional or unsolicited messages.
- If someone asks you to stop texting them — by replying STOP or in any other way — you must stop.
- You must follow the laws that apply to business texting and calling, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the rules of the carriers that deliver your messages.
Your messages are delivered under LarLine’s registration with the carriers. Carriers filter what they consider spam, and we will suspend accounts that put that registration at risk.
7. What you may not do
- Send spam, robocalls, threats, harassment, scams, or anything illegal.
- Pretend to be someone you are not, or hide who is calling or texting.
- Use LarLine for automated or high-volume dialing, as a call center, or to resell phone service.
- Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or access anything that is not yours.
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account, immediately if the situation calls for it.
8. Recording and consent
LarLine does not record your phone calls. When a call goes unanswered, the caller hears a voicemail greeting and their message is recorded and transcribed for you — that is the only audio we keep. If we ever offer call recording, it will be something you switch on yourself, and you will be responsible for telling the people you talk to, as the law where you and they are may require.
9. No emergency calling
LarLine numbers cannot call 911 or other emergency services, and you must not rely on LarLine in an emergency. Use your cell phone or a landline. By using LarLine you acknowledge this limitation.
10. Availability
We aim to keep LarLine running all the time, and we tell you when it is not. But it depends on carriers, networks and hosting providers we do not run, so we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every call will ring through, or that every text will be delivered. We may change or improve features, and we will let you know if we ever discontinue the service.
11. Your data
Your messages, call history, voicemails and account details belong to you. We use them only to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you send and for having the right to send it.
12. Warranty and liability
LarLine is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will meet your needs.
To the fullest extent the law allows, VLO Labs, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost business, revenue or profits — including from a missed call, an undelivered text, or an outage. Our total liability to you for any claim related to LarLine is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some places do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
13. Ending things
You can close your account anytime by cancelling your subscription. You can also delete it outright in the app, which is not the same thing: deleting releases your number to the carrier at once with no 30-day hold, and removes your sign-in permanently — we cannot restore any of it. If we bill you, deleting also cancels your subscription. If Apple bills you, you must cancel in your Apple subscription settings as well — Apple does not let us cancel on your behalf, so an Apple subscription left running keeps charging you after the account is gone. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the carriers require it, or if we discontinue the service. When an account closes without being deleted, your number enters the 30-day hold. Either way we delete your data as the Privacy Policy describes.
14. Governing law
VLO Labs, Inc. is a California corporation, and these terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we cannot settle by email will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we each agree to their jurisdiction.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top; if a change matters to you, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use LarLine after that means you accept the new terms.
16. Contact
Questions, disputes, or anything else: [email protected]. We would rather sort things out with an email than anything more formal, and we will try to.
